Local to Tecserv UK, Potens has three residential homes located across the East Midlands; Larwood House in Kirkby in Ashfield, Heathfield Gardens in Tibshelf, and a property on Chestnut Grove in Borrowash, Derby.
Each home provides accommodation for persons who have learning disabilities, mental health conditions or physical disabilities and need nursing or personal care to help them prepare for and lead more independent lives.
When carrying out fire alarm system maintenance engineers need to be mindful of the anxiety alarm testing may cause to some residents. This requires working closely with the care home manager so they can arrange appropriate care for each individual.
The project to install a fire alarm system, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers at Larwood House required working to a very tight schedule as Potens wished to have the home ready to receive residents as soon as possible. Many structural alterations were required to provide independent rooms, kitchens and en-suite bathroom facilities. Therefore several contractors were working on site simultaneously. Tecserv had to liaise with the project manager to ensure our works were scheduled appropriately and would complete on time.
An ongoing maintenance programme means that the fire alarm system, equipment and processes are regularly checked, ensuring Potens is able to demonstrate compliance with all fire safety regulations.
Please note Tecserv UK only operate within the United Kingdom – any work outside of this region cannot be considered.
