Headquartered in Hull, KCOM is one of the UK’s longest-established providers of communications services, connecting both businesses and residential customers for over a century. Established in 1904, KCOM has a rich history of innovation and commitment to customer service.
Owned by Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6, KCOM benefits from the expertise of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), the world’s largest infrastructure manager. MIRA collaborates with clients, governments, and communities to finance, manage, and develop critical infrastructure, including roads, airports, ports, utilities, energy, and telecommunications.
Tecserv UK has a longstanding relationship with KCOM, serving as the principal contractor for fire maintenance across the full property portfolio. KCOM’s network site located in Doncaster, required a comprehensive site survey to address fire risks. The absence of a fire alarm system necessitated the installation of a new fire alarm system fit for purpose.
Tecserv engineers conducted a thorough site survey and subsequently designed, installed, and commissioned a new conventional fire alarm system utilising Kentec control equipment and Apollo detection devices for the site. The system has been designed to British Standard BS5839-1:2017 category L1.
As an approved distributor of Apollo fire alarm systems, Tecserv UK’s service engineers are fully trained to install and maintain the entire range of Apollo products, ensuring ongoing reliability and safety.
KCOM’s site in Doncaster is now safeguarded with a robust fire protection system, effectively reducing fire-related risks to the network operation, as well as increasing protection for the people visiting and maintaining the site.
Please note Tecserv UK only operate within the United Kingdom – any work outside of this region cannot be considered.
