Purpose Media is an award winning full service marketing agency which specialises in web development, creative, digital marketing, email marketing, social media and video.
Founded in 2008, the company has expanded over the last 15 years and is now located in The Village, South Normanton. A development of prestigious commercial office buildings located near junction 28 of the M1, which is an easy commute for both clients and staff.
Initially, Purpose Media leased and then purchased Unit 14 and in 2018 due to business growth, the adjoining units 16 and 18 were leased and purchased in 2022. The combined space now comprises 5,000 sq ft and incorporates a variety of collaborative workspaces, meeting rooms and recreational areas for staff.
When originally constructed, each unit came equipped with a fire alarm system, and each tenant or owner was responsible for maintenance. Following the purchase of the adjacent units there was a need to integrate the separate systems into one with a central control panel. The objective was to meet fire regulations and cater for how the combined space would now be used. The system configuration also had to be done and in a way that should the offices be used as single or dual units again in the future it would be easy to revert to separate fire alarm systems.
The company also needed to integrate the access control system to ensure they could ensure a personalised and welcoming greeting through a single access point.
Tecserv was originally appointed in 2014 and have been maintaining the fire alarm systems ever since. Having acquired the additional two units, Purpose Media carried out interior building works to join all units together and carried out a PM branded office fit-out to equip the enlarged space with easily accessible work spaces and meeting rooms.
During and following completion of the building refurbishments we helped Purpose Media identify potential fire risks and complete a new fire risk assessment. We then integrated the two previously separate fire alarm systems across the enlarged space and ensured the right call points, detectors and fire extinguishers were installed and correctly positioned.
We now continue to carry out routine maintenance and inspection services on an ongoing basis.
Purpose Media has enjoyed peace of mind that their fire alarm system is working effectively. To date there have been no interruptions to business operations caused by unforeseen malfunction’s or false alarm activations.
By ensuring regular maintenance is carried out, Tecserv UK has been able to identify potential issues in advance and so far we have avoided any unplanned costly repairs or periods where our system has been inactive.
We have helped ensure Purpose Media’s record keeping is up to date and that its compliance obligations are met.
